HOW TO GET AHEAD IN YOUR JOB

As any “authority” will tell you, no one gets ahead in business on his or her own.  We all need a full tool kit:  basic skills, up-to-date knowledge of what's going on in our industry, continuing lifelong education, and a solid network of professionals who share our goals.  The League is here to do its part to serve you as a Member.  That is our mission and that is why you joined the League.

Our next “chapter” in bringing you the best possible tools for your personal tool kit is taking place this November in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  We have planned an extraordinary yet compact program loaded with opportunities to hone your skills and get on top of the latest developments in the domestic and international freight markets.

The Annual Meeting for all League Members will begin on Sunday November 14th with a special luncheon event at 1:00 p.m. at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort.  Our guest speaker will be the Honorable Daniel Elliott III, Chairman of the Surface Transportation Board in Washington, DC.  The decisions rendered by the Board have enormous impacts on rail freight operators and their customers.  You should be here to learn firsthand the key matters now under examination by Chairman Elliott and his colleagues, and how their decisions may impact your own business decisions in the near future.

Immediately following the luncheon, League Members will convene a conference within a conference—a multimodal examination of current conditions, and prospects for the near term future with a special emphasis on the capacity issues and concerns so prominent today in every mode.  Our speakers include:

Additional confirmed speakers will be announced soon.

TRANSCOMP EXHIBITION NOVEMBER 15-16, 2010

Following our Annual Meeting for League Members is the TransComp Exhibition.  No other freight transportation industry event matches the TransComp Exhibition for size, depth or quality.  The industry's leading companies will be exhibiting their latest and best services and equipment, and show attendees will reap the benefits.  In addition to our exhibitors' outstanding displays, we have planned an outstanding educational program for every participant.  Our program includes:

On the trade show floor:

At the Opening General Session:

At the “Super Sessions”:

The Closing Speaker on Tuesday November 16 will be Captain James Lovell, Jr. NASA Legend/Apollo 13 Commander, whose model for leadership and effective crisis management is unmatched in the modern era.

The combined activities and events of the League's 103rd Annual Meeting and the TransComp Exhibition are an outstanding opportunity for all freight transportation, logistics and supply chain professionals to add to their tool kit, meet with their peers, and learn from industry leaders.  We want to see you in Ft. Lauderdale this November.
