| Companies that purchase for-hire transportation and arrange for the shipment and
receipt of freight are eligible to be MEMBERS in The National Industrial
Transportation League. Manufacturers, retailers, mining, petrochemical companies, and
agricultural interests are all eligible for membership. Associations and organizations
representing such shipper interests can also be MEMBERS. League MEMBERS
participate in all activities, including setting policy, and receive all materials.
Railroads, motor carriers, steamship companies, air cargo carriers, barge companies,
and other transportation service providers cannot be League MEMBERS but they can
become ASSOCIATES. League ASSOCIATES are not allowed to vote on policy
matters, but they can participate on selected committees, attend general meetings and
educational seminars, and receive general materials, including the League’s newsletter.
Individuals may also become SUBSCRIBERS to general League publications.
SUBSCRIBERS are offered reduced registration fees for League meetings, but they
cannot participate in policy matters. The category of SUBSCRIBER was created for
those who want to stay informed, but who do not work for a MEMBER or
ASSOCIATE company.
